We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the BhagavadGita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, “Now I become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

Indian students should value their religious culture and of course, the classical Indian culture bears importantly on the meaning of life and values. I would not separate the two. To separate Science and Indian culture world be harmful. I don’t think it is practical to keep scientific and spiritual culture separate.

Vedic Cosmology is the only one in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology.
The Hinduism is the only one of the world’s greatest faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths. It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology.

I owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad-Gita. It was the first of books: it was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us.
The East is grand and makes Europe appear the land of trifles… all is soul and the soul is Vishnu… cheerful and noble is the genius of this cosmology. Nature makes a Hindu of me presently.

The idea that man is like unto an inverted tree seems to have been current in bygone ages. The way of life envisaged for the people of Bhaarath (India) by the divine incarnations, and by their great sages and saints of yore who had fully aligned to the Supreme Being from time immemorial is known as “SANATHANA DHARMA”.
‘Sanathana’ in Sanskrit means eternal, everlasting, non-changing and ‘Dharma’ means a comprehensive righteous way of life. Therefore, Sanathana Dharma simply means, “ a way of life that leads human beings in the spiritually evolutionary direction (towards higher spiritual orders of life and ultimately towards Moksha i.e., eternal and everlasting state in the Supreme Being / God by dissolving oneself into IT)”.
Dharma never means Religion as professed in the ordinary sense. Religion is a set of Do’s and Don’ts prescribed rightly or wrongly by it’s founder for his followers demanding unquestioning faith and loyalty to his teachings, and with certain punishments for not following them. In this sense Sanathana Dharma is NOT a religion, for it has neither a founder nor a beginning. It is as natural as Nature is. Truly, there cannot be one mortal man laying foundation for a way of life for an entire community/humanity.
Further, Sanathana Dharma is not wedded to or limited to any one man’s spiritual thought process. It is the collective spiritual wisdom (amalgam) of several divine incarnations, and infinite number of enlightened great sages, saints and philosophers of India, from time immemorial. Therefore, it is NOT a religion but a spiritually cultural way of life of Hindus in a very broader sense. It is Eternal and Universal as nature is, and all encompassing, and always catering to the evolutionary instincts of human beings at varied levels.

In the present time the word “MEDITATION” is well known and popular all over the world. Innumerable scientific studies all over the world on Meditation have revealed many mental, physical and social benefits of the practise of Meditation.
Naturally many schools of spiritual thought have sprung up and they are offering varieties of Meditation. Therefore, it is natural that in the mind of the true Sadhaka/Seeker of the TRUTH, the question arises which is the true and correct Meditation practise to be pursued for not only deriving the benefits but to realise the goal (realisation of Universal Consciousness/ Supreme Being) of Meditation, for which the Sadhaka/Seeker id Meditating. The Science of Meditation OR Tapas was envisaged and evolved originally in Sanathana Dharma (Hinduism) in India.
WHAT IS RIGHT MEDITATION?
The very meaning of Meditation provides the true definition of Meditation. The word Meditation means “ to think deeply and constantly engrossed on one single issue” i.e., one pointed focus of the attention of the Mind on one single chosen issue, concept, object or on a specific thought of Mantra.
Every travel of ours should have a definite destination or goal. The purpose of embarking on a travel is to reach the desired goal or destination. If you travel without any goal or destination to be reached, then it becomes a meaningless travel leaving us nowhere.
Select one of your favourite Sanathan Divine Naama Mantra from the list below
Only Absolute divine mantras are to be used for meditation. Select your mantra either from the list given above or from Vedic tradition. Do not use the mantras pertaining to lower or darker forces of nature (non-divine or negative). If used you will be aligned with the darker forces of nature.
[Throughout Maanasika Japa (Sanathan meditation), while repeating the mantra of meditation, do not move your tongue and lips, and at the same time keep your eyes closed all the time, and also be easy, comfortable, and natural].
Note:- Those who cannot sit and meditate because of lack of time, may repeat the divine word or Naama Mantra only mentally without moving tongue and lips during the course of their activities where the concentration of mind is NOT required and thereby gain spiritually.
Do not use the mantras pertaining to any baba or prophet or that of any other unknown force of the nature (non-divine) whose divine vibration is NOT known. If you use, it may align you to the darker layers of the creation. They are of unknown vibration. The mantras given here have been used by our Sages and Saints from time immemorial for attaining divinity and totally proved of their Absolute Divine Vibrations.
The cosmic sound ‘AAUM/OM’ is not added as a prefix to these Sanathan Divine Naama mantras, because only to avoid any premature awakening of the basal kundalini energy before sufficient purification of karma, causing false renunciation attitude and thereby avoiding doing of karma yoga in the guise spiritual pursuit.
Everybody can practise Sanathan Divine NAAMA Mantras without any fear of developing any type of false renunciation.
AAUM/OM is the basic cosmic sound with which loud Vedic recitations are made invoking Gods and Goddesses operating in the creation, in order to worship and appease them for the one’s well-being and public at large. These loud recitations goes into the environment and not INWARD like Meditation. Therefore, there is no chance in awakening kundalini energy by these Vedic worships which are basically OUTWARD.
Meditation on the word “SHAANTHIHI” (meaning Supreme peace, bliss and harmony which is the fundamental nature of the Supreme Being) OR on any Divine Naama Mantras, produces tremendous positive effects on the mind, body and behaviour of a person. Do not try to translate the word “SHAANTHIHI” into any other non-Indian languages because their vibrations are unknown.
– Tath Sath
Every couple except their child to be born hale and healthy and also, it’s delivery to happen in a natural way (without cesarean). Not only this but also expect the child born to them should grow up healthily and become intelligent enough to acquire good education and become a good citizen in the society. If all these expectations have to be fulfilled or realised, they have to follow certain principles especially the would be mother.
The pregnant women, the moment she comes to know that she is pregnant, she has to adopt certain good and healthy habits.
They are:
1. The pregnant women should adopt nutritious and healthy diet according to her economic status.
2. She should try to provide good rest to the body as and when possible, apart from the normal sleep. Also, she should be physically active, moderately so that blood is supplied to all the parts of the body properly. In other words, proper balancing of rest and the activity is necessary.
3. The couple should develop the habit of visiting near-by temples and offering worships so that the pregnant woman’s mind is influenced by the divine feelings, time and again, so that the divine vibrations that are infused into the mind is carried to or descends to the growing child in the womb so as to cause highly positive influence on the growth of the child.
4. The pregnant woman should keep her mind in very good mood. She should read good books which not only enhances her knowledge but also infuse great ideals and values of life. This effort results in the would-be mother having a sound, happy and good state of mind which in-turn influence the healthy growth of the child mentally and physically.
On the other hand, if the mother suffers from trauma, mental disturbance, melancholy feelings or depression, the same is carried forwards to the child in the womb because the child is the part of the pregnant woman. Therefore, it is important to keep the mind of the mother in a good and happy mood. This fact is highly emphasized in the ancient Indian scriptures.
5. The pregnant women should practise in an easy and comfortable way without straining, Natural Deep Breathing or Sahaja Pranayama for 3-5 minutes. Deep breathing is to just inhale deeply as far as comfortable and the exhale deeply. This deep breathing helps in increasing the pranic or life energy in the mother’s body which in-turn infuse more pranic or life energy into the growing child especially to the brain and the nervous system.
6. All the above good practises help in the healthy growth of the child physically and mentally. But is this sufficient to get a good or benign soul into the body of the growing child in the womb? The answer is ‘No”.
7. Then, the mother should adopt some divine practises like listening to divine bhajans or chanting, etc., (Of course NOT that of any babas or guru whose divine vibration are not known or guaranteed) purely that of Gods and Goddesses. The bhajans should not be heard through earphones because the electrically charged sound waves enter into the physical body of the pregnant mother not only distributing her physical rhythm but also that of a child.
The electrically charged sound waves produce bad effects on the mind and body of the child. Therefore, the divine bhajans or chanting’s have to be heard from a distance coming through air. The atmosphere being a good conductor of electricity, the electrical charge of the sound waves is absorbed into the air and only the clean sound waves without any electrical charge reaches the ears.
8. Apart from these, the mother should adopt the practise of Divine Meditation for 20-30 minutes morning or evening or whenever she finds time.
– Visit this page for more details on How to meditate?
9. If meditation is not possible, then she can mentally repeat the divine name of her family deity or the One which is dearer to her heart given in (link) (beware, not that of any babas or gurus because the divine efficacy of their names you may not know). The divine name is of highest Cosmic frequency and these waves percolate deep into the mind and body of the mother, gradually reaching the mind and body of the child. This infusion of divine frequency helps the child’s body and mind to attract a divine or good soul into it.
10. When the expecting mother practises all the above said good practises then there is no surprise if the birth of the child takes place naturally without cesarean process. Even of cesarean child birth takes place, the healing of the cesarean wound will heal faster without any complications because of the accumulation of divine energy in the body through the above said practises.
11. After the child birth the mother can continue to repeat mentally the divine name as and when she is breastfeeding the child. The divine vibrations produced in the mind percolate into the body and through the breast milk it reaches the child. Therefore, the child’s growth will not only be satisfactory but also positive qualities will be seen in the child. As long as the child is breast fed, the mother can adopt this technique of repeating the divine name mentally.
12. Those who follow all the above benign practises, they will find that their child not only growing healthy but also in the future the child will be intelligent, good in values and qualities.
13. Giving birth to the child is the right of the parents but bringing him/her up as a good and beneficial citizen of the society is also the prime responsibility of the parents. If the child grows up to become a negative, destructive member of the society then it is the failure of the parents in their primary duties and responsibilities towards the child.
14. Therefore, please parents take care that your wards become healthy, useful and purposeful member of the human society.
Homosexuality is neither a physiological disease or disorder
It is a carried forward Instinct from the past existence.
If an entity was an man in the past existence and takes birth as a woman in the present, the entity continues to have the Instinct of getting attracted to women in this life also despite changes of gender physically. If the entity does not erase the past instinct but encourages the instinct, she tends to become a lesbian.
Similarly, an entity who was an woman in the past existence, but takes birth as a man in the present life, he continues to have the Instinct of getting attracted to man despite change of gender physically in their life. If the past Instinct is not erased, but continued to encourage the Instinct, such a man becomes a Gay. Unless one understands the secret behind homosexuality, it becomes difficult to overcome the past instinct and the tendency. Irrespective of the fact that one believes or not in the past existence, the nature’s gift of change in the gender physically results in this aberration. It is the failure of one’s Mind to adapt to the change of gender physically, and continue to have strong past Instinct intact makes one to become Homosexual.
It is not at all difficult to erase and overcome carried forward past Instinct if one simply follows the path of Yoga.
Because the Instinct is hidden in the subconscious mind and keeps surfacing again and again, it necessary to treat the Mind. Mind can be treated to eliminate many past instincts not only homosexuality but also several genetic disorders strongly imprinted in the subconscious mind, through the practise of Natural deep breathing (Pranayama) and right and correct Meditation.
Dedicated practice of natural deep breathing for 5 min’s and right Meditation process for 30 min’s gradually erases the instinct of Homosexuality within 6 months or an year depending upon each case.
Natural deep breathing helps in establishing great rhythm between mind and the body. Prana, the cosmic energy brings in the right rhythm and harmony between mind and the body.
Meditation makes the conscious mind (through the repetition of Mantra-Centrifugic process) to dive deep into the subconscious layers of the mind and erase many latent (hidden) instinct, traits and tendencies.
Dedicated practice of natural deep breathing for 5 min’s and right Meditation process for 30 min’s gradually erases the instinct of Homosexuality within 6 months or an year depending upon each case. As the conscious mind dives deep into its subconscious layers only when it reaches that layer where the instinct of homosexuality is latent it will be erased or released and flushed out. Therefore it takes sometime for this to happen however this may vary from case to case.
Once the instinct is erased mind strikes right rhythm with the body of the present existence without fail and proper harmony between the mind and the body will be established.
Will to overcome the homosexual instinct must be there off course.
One has to understand why nature has given a body contradicting the instinct of the mind. It is only a change in the evolutionary process of life. Strike rhythm and harmony with the nature (body) and live happily as nature has willed/desired.
GURU Means the brilliance of the light and fire i.e., the knowledge of the Supreme Being that eliminates the darkness (ignorance); that which burns down the impurities (karma) to ashes; that which illuminates the consciousness aligning it with the Universal Consciousness (Supreme Being).
Guru can be a –
All these three can be GURUS. Guru is the game changer of life.
Treat this Knowledge information as your Guru and start your practise of Sanathana Divine Meditation/Japa Yagana (saadhana) and realize the Supreme Being/ Supreme Consciousness/ Universal Consciousness according to your spiritual potential.
Note that Guru is only a guide giving right spiritual path to tread towards the goal, but reaching the goal is the effort of the seeker. Guru is the Guide but not the end. The end for the seeker is in attaining Supreme / Universal Consciousness.
Indian Spirituality is directly based on the phenomenon of Yoga. Yoga is the art and science of the evolution of Individual Consciousness into the Universal Consciousness for all times.
What is Yoga:-
The word Yoga in the orient means to bring two things together, Uniting or Combining.
In order to unite two things, the two have to be brought in alignment (in-line) with each other so that joining can take place (yoga).
In Indian Spirituality, the alignment (brought in-line) of four things are made., the body, mind, individual consciousness and the Universal Consciousness. These four things are brought in alignment through the practise of Yoga.
Usually, the word Yoga is mistaken for Yogasanas (Yogic physical postures).
Yogasanas are such refined, smooth bodily postures which enhances the rhythmatic functioning of all the parts of the body so as to strike rhythm with the Nature . Yogasanas are the precursor for bringing Yoga (alignment) between body and mind. Natural deep breathing (Pranayama) brings in perfect rhythm between body and mind. .
Mind is aligned or brought into Yoga with one’s own consciousness through the process of Meditation.
Meditation alone can bring together the Yoga of Mind and Individual Consciousness (Soul).
This is the BEST and HIGHEST form meditation among all meditation.
“Yagnanaam Japayagnosmi”, meaning “Among all the Spriritual practises, Japa (Meditation) is MYSELF” – Lord Krushna in Bhagavadgeetha.
Japa is nothing but repetition of a pure divine name or a trait or a mantra (A Sanskrit divine word or a phrase, repeated again and again is called MANTRA) associated with UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS.
Vedas describe JAPA as of three types.
विधियज्ञा ज्ज्पयज्ञो विशिष्टो दशभिर्गुणै । उपांशुः स्याच्छतगुणः । सहसस्त्रो मानसः स्मृतः ॥
Manasika Japa or Meditation is the BEST and HIGHEST form of Spiritual practise, because in this form of Japa, the mind is turned INWARD i.e., towards one’s own Self which is the connector to the Universal Self.

This way of meditation is auditory in nature. In this meditation one listens to repetition of a pure divine mantra, or a hymn with rapt attention.
These days electronic repeater (Chanting box) of mantras are available in the market. Select only one mantra or a hymn which is your most favorite and do not change it often.
This is a type of meditation is practised in a very diluted manner. Only the Nama Mantra given in the table at this page can be constantly repeated mentally without moving tongue and lips during the course of day-to-day activities, like morning or evening walk in the park or at any other safe place or while travelling, where greater concentration of the mind is not required.
As there is no scope for the released karmic forces to move out in this form of meditation, they move out in the form of dreams during sleep in the night. With regular practise dreams will come down.
DO NOT practise this meditation when you are driving or while doing any activity where great concentration of mind is required like working with machines, driving, cutting etc. If practised, you may end up in disaster.
The practices under this saadhana are totally opposed to higher order and instead take the practitioner to the darker realms of creation.
These practices include invoking of dark forces of nature (spirits, goblins and other lower forces) through violent and unnatural ways of worship including animal sacrifices etc., only to gain control of those dark forces of nature and use them against fellow human beings by way of controlling, exploiting and misleading them, as a super human being for personal glory, name, fame and riches.
This appeasement of dark forces of nature through these practices and misusing them, makes the practitioner to accumulate more and more karma and by sheer weight of karma, he goes down to the lower and darker layers of creation (animals and plants etc.), just as heavy things drown in water.
This is what Lord Krushna means when he says “Adhoo gachanthi Thamasaaha”. The Raajasic saadhana and the Thamasic saadhana are not the path of Salvation/Moksha, like the Saathwic Saadhana.
Note : The spiritual practices which are not natural in their practise (unnatural) are not true spiritual practices.
Spiritual practices cannot be against the natural way of life.
(Sahaja Pranayama)
The efficacy of all meditations can be greatly enhanced if natural deep breathing is practised for about 3 to 5 minutes before starting meditation. Deep breathing can also be practised separately.
HOW TO PRACTISE DEEP BREATHING ?
Lord Vishnu is one of the most important Hindu Scriptures gives the secret of salvation as follows.
11. iɪÉåÌmÉiÉÇ xrÉÉ®qÉÉjÉïÇ kÉqÉÉåï ¥ÉélÉÉjÉïqÉåuÉcÉ | ¥ÉÉlÉÇ iÉÑ krÉÉlÉrÉÉåaÉÉjÉïqÉÍcÉUÉimÉëÌuÉqÉÑcrÉiÉå||
The nature has gifted the human body to lead life in accordance with Dharma (righteousness). Leading life in accordance with Dharma results in the knowledge of Divinity (becoming aware of the Universal Consciousness or Supreme Being). This knowledge in turn will lead to Meditation purifies the karma of innumerable births, and will lead to salvation.
Spiritual inter-reactions (Satsangh) and wisdom are two eyes without which man will fall victim to bad ways of life.
Many tread hard spiritual paths like tolerating intense cold, heat, thirst and do intense penances foolishly for the sake of salvation, not knowing the true path of salvation.
Those who criticise the people who worship THE Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, All-Knowing, All Pervading Supreme Being (GOD/ Universal Consciousness) in the idol form are themselves highly foolish, immature and idiotic minded with no true intellectual/spiritual knowledge.
According to them the Supreme Being is only in the formless state and it is incapable of taking any form and therefore, it has to be only worshiped in it’s formless state. If the formless Supreme Being is incapable of manifesting in the forms it intends, then it is an useless entity and unworthy of any worship, but this is not true. Know the truth that the Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, All-Knowing, All Pervading Supreme Being/ Universal Consciousness is both formless and also expressed ITSELF in many forms since time immemorial both at the cosmic levels and also on earth.
The entire creation (earth, stars, galaxies, nebulas etc..) itself is the manifested form of the creator/ Supreme Being. Incidentally east is the land where the Supreme Being itself has manifested in many forms and Indians are lucky that since time immemorial those manifested forms are recorded in the Indian ancient history. The Idols representing the known manifest forms directly represent the Supreme Being itself and by worshiping those manifested forms the worshiper directly emotionally inter-react with the formless Supreme Being through the form. This makes the worshipper to easily emotionally connect himself / herself with the Supreme Being which is the ultimate cause of everything (Including the worshiper). Therefore, it is foolish and immature to think that the Supreme Being who is pervading in every atom of the creation and beyond is not pervading in the idols which are the representation of it’s manifested forms. These manifested forms are cognised by the seekers in Hinduism since time immemorial and time and again in the course of time and therefore, innumerable temples are built everywhere to make the devotee/worshiper/seeker to connect with the Supreme Being emotionally thorough these Idols. The Idols in which the Supreme Being is in the static form is made to become dynamic through a Scientific Vedic methodology (known as Aagama Shaastras) and therefore, the Idol inter reacts with the worshipper in the living form representing the Supreme Being.
The propagation that Hinduism has many Gods is absolutely false. The worships, prayers and Meditation on any one of the God forms of the Supreme Being finally leads to THAT one and the only Supreme Being/ Supreme Intelligence/ Supreme Consciousness, just as various rivers finally reaching the Sea.
“Perfect Health is a Myth;
Good Health is a Reality”
Health depends on one’s approach and choice towards it. Here are a few hints that may be helpful in complementing Pranayama and Meditation, in improving health of mind and body.
Residues and toxins in the body if allowed to remain, will be the root cause for all the disorders and diseases. Water is the cleanser of the body. Therefore, develop the habit of drinking plenty of water. Many people sparingly drink water, that too only when they are thirsty. Which is inadvisable.
Drink full glass of water half an hour before you go to bed. During sleep, food is digested and the contents are absorbed into blood. Therefore, concentration of the blood increases, i.e., its viscosity increases, and its flow slows down, just as thick liquid flows slower than the thin one. When blood becomes thick and its flow slows down, the heart has to pump blood with greater effort than normal. This causes stress on the heart. This is the reason we see more heart attacks in the late night, especially in middle and old age people.
Drinking a reasonable quantity of water before sleep helps in maintaining thinness of blood. Water is a natural thinner than aspirin or any other blood thinner. Also, drinking water before going to bed helps in cooling the body, which in turn helps in getting sleep. Drinking water before going to bed is a good habit in all seasons.
Drinking a full glass of water before eating breakfast or food helps in flushing out gas accumulated in the stomach and also it makes you eat less. This is helpful in preventing overeating and increases of body weight of the body.
When you do Pranayama, and if there is less Hemoglobin, it cannot take more oxygen and supply the same to all parts of the body. Therefore, your Pranayama will less effective. Also, deficiency of Iron results in tiredness and lack of enthusiasm.
A healthy mind is the foundation for a healthy body because the mind is the Master of the body. Therefore, developing a Holistic personality is very important for living a healthy life.
Those who are suffering from some diseases or disorders may adopt the mantra “Vydhyo Naaraayano Harihi” as the mantra for their regular meditation. Meditation on this mantra gradually paves the way for the necessary relief to come from any direction in any manner. |
Cruelty to animals is as bad as cruelty to human beings. Animals too have a fully developed nervous system, and brain to a certain extent. They feel as much physical pain, anguish, fear, hunger, etc., as human beings feel. when the animals are killed in mass for consumption purposes, all the animals go through the suffering of shock, pain, fear, anguish etc.. which are nothing but the negative energy and all of them are released into the cosmos.
This negative energy forms a layer in the higher atmosphere not only disturbing the rhythm of nature but also negatively influencing the human minds. When the nature’s rhythm is disturbed due to this accumulated negative energy, nature reacts violently as famine, floods, forest fires and in other modes.
Therefore, cruelty to animals and human beings is one and the same. Biologically human beings are herbivores not carnivores. The animals like Lion, tiger etc. catch the prey and eat them alive and it is natural to them. But human beings cannot eat like that. We have to first kill those animals we intend to eat and once the life force goes out of them, their bodies become dead bodies and then we cook and eat them.
However, in case of human beings, when they die, we will be in a great hurry to cremate them because they start putrefying. In the case of animals also putrefaction starts in the same way immediately after their death yet we eat those putrefying bodies of those animals because of the residual animal instincts in us make us to compromise with this truth and eat the dead bodies. It is intriguing.
When we eat animal flesh, their instincts, traits and tendencies also get into us enhancing in us animal instincts and takes away our greater logical and reasoning potential. The animal in man is strengthened. This further strengthens the negative emotions hidden in us and they come out in a violent way when they fall victim to their emotions.
This prevents our evolution to higher levels of consciousness and on the other hand, we deteriorate into lower levels of consciousness although we continue to look like human beings with beasts inside. This is an undisputed TRUTH. This carnivorous instinct of human beings has led to tremendous animal culture which in-turn also has led to toxic gases released from animals accumulating in the environment adding to environmental disorders like global warming etc. Plants too have life but they do not have a fully developed nervous system and brain as animals have. This differentiates animals and plants, in experiencing the severity of pain, fear, anguish etc. when violence is inflicted on them.
On the other hand, a plant’s yield (produce) is consumed by human beings as food for survival and results in no violence against them except if the whole plants (like greens) are consumed for food. Thus, Minimum violence against plants (for food) are the compromise that human beings can make for their own survival.

The Karma is the play of the Universal Consciousness Individualizing itself in varied forms as living beings including Gods and Goddesses and also as non-living creation. This is the secret of Consciousness and life and also that of the creation.
The matter and the living Beings are all nothing but the Universal Consciousness in their core, and the Individual Consciousness is bound by both finer and grosser manifestation. The Universal Consciousness is ever aware of itself. When one becomes aware of his/her own consciousness then it connects to the Universal Consciousness. When the body of such a realized person who is totally freed from Karma, is shed, then the Individual Consciousness dissolves into the Universal Consciousness forever. This is Moksha (Salvation). Those who have not realized their own consciousness yet because of Karma, they move on into the cycle of births and deaths.

– Chapter 8, Stanza 21, Bhagavadgita.
Lord Krushna declares that “My abode is beyond that manifest, dynamic yet formless one called Akshara”. Akshara is the first cosmic sound AAM which does not diminish unlike other sounds till the WILL of the Supreme Being wants to withdraw it, which evidently mean that the abode of the Supreme Being/Universal Consciousness and also, that of the Individual Consciousness are in Absolute Benign SILENT state even beyond Peace and Bliss (dwandwatheetha) and also beyond the sound AAM”.
Though the Consciousness is in absolute silence yet it is dynamic (live and benign silence) and not dead silence (which is fearsome). AAM is the cosmic sound that arises from the Supreme, Absolute, Benign SILENT state of the Supreme Being, which is the taproot cause of the entire creation. One who reaches that state of the Supreme Being transcending the Akshara AAM shall have no return into the cycle of birth and death. Therefore, Lord Krushna has declared that his abode is beyond Akshara i.e., beyond sound AAM and HE is in Absolute Silence, Static yet Dynamic in nature, and whoever reaches this state (Universal Consciousness) shall permanently disseminate into HIM(the Supreme, Eternal and Universal Consciousness).
Lord Shiva having the energy (Shakthi) as his half feminine form (Ardhanaarishwara i.e., amalgam of Energy and Consciousness). The pure energy (sound waves) is guided in its dynamic manifestation as Creation (Nature) by the Universal Consciousness which is behind it. Energy in its action is always guided by Consciousness.

Whatever that manifests as creation from the Absolute and Wholeness (Supreme / Universal Consciousness) is also Absolute and Whole. When this manifested Absolute and Whole (creation) dissolves into the Supreme Consciousness, IT remains the same (Absolute and Whole).
In the end, everything is Supreme/Universal Consciousness ITSELF. Creation is nothing but the play and display of that Unmanifest Absolute Universal Consciousness.
Suspension of mental activity in Sanathan Meditation is neither attainment of Trans nor is the end of spiritual journey. Realization of Universal Consciousness / Supreme Being is the real end of spiritual journey. |
The way of life envisaged for the people of India by the divine incarnation and by their sages and saints of yore from time immemorial is known as “ SANATHANA DHARMA ”.
‘Sanathana’ in Sanskrit means eternal and ‘Dharma’ means righteous way of life. Therefore, Sanathana Dharma simply means, “a way of life that leads man in the evolutionary direction (towards higher spiritual orders of life i.e., towards salvation) ”.
Further, Sanathana Dharma is not wedded to or limited to any one man’s spiritual thought process. It is the collective spiritual wisdom (amalgam) of several divine incarnations, and infinite number of enlightened great sages, saints and philosophers of India from time immemorial. Therefore, it is NOT a religion but a way of life of Hindus in a very broader sense. It is Eternal and Universal as nature is, and all encompassing, and always catering to the evolutionary instincts of human beings at varied levels.
“Sanathana Dharma” is also known as Hinduism. The invaders from the north west frontier of the subcontinent who invaded India in the recent historical time, called the civilization beyond Sindhu River as Hindu and it became the name of Sanathana Dharma. In
fact there is no such civilization called Hindu as seen in our Puranas (legends) and Ithihasas
(history).
Sanathana Dharma envisages four directive principles i.e., DHARMA (righteous way of living), KARMA (The sum of good and bad actions that binds an entity to the creation or world), PUNARJANMA (rebirth) and MOKSHA (salvation).
One who leads life in accordance with Dharma (righteous way of living) i.e., following the divine principles like, love, compassion, non-violence mentally and physically except for self-protection or for protecting the dependents or for establishing the righteousness, and charity, doing allotted or accepted duties in the right and dedicated way, service to the Supreme BEING by way of serving the fellow-beings, abstaining from cheating or deceit, maliciousness, jealous etc., practising spiritual practices like devotion to the Supreme BEING, Meditation, Worship, Prayer etc. will not get into Karma which is the cause for re-birth.
Thus, one who leads life in accordance with Dharma, for him there is no Karma and therefore, no Punarjanma. Those who do not lead life in accordance with Dharma shall get into the bondage of Karma and therefore, take birth again and again (Punarjanma) to work out their Karma. Those who lead life according to Dharma, incur no new Karma and also wipe out accumulated Karma of the past through right spiritual practises, and when left with no Karma, there will be no cause to take rebirth (Punarjanma). Freeing oneself from all types of Karma is known as Mukthi (liberation from the bondage of Karma). Then, the Individual Consciousness (self or ego) dissolves into the Universal Consciousness, attaining eternal rest from the cycle of births and deaths as there is no Karma to take birth again. This is Moksha (Salvation). These are the four fundamental PILLARS of Sanathana Dharma.
Maharshi Veda Vyasa has in one of his important legends exclusively dealth with the path of Moksha (Salvation) as “Moksha Dharma Nirupanam”, as envisaged by Lord Vishnu (one of the most important Hindu Scriptures) gives the secret of Moksha as follows.
The nature has gifted the human body to lead life in accordance with Dharma (righteousness). Leading life in accordance with Dharma results in the knowledge of Divinity (becoming aware of the Universal Consciousness or Supreme Being). This knowledge in turn will lead to Meditation purifies the karma of innumerable births, and will lead to Moksha (salvation).
Spiritual inter-reactions (Satsangh) and wisdom are two eyes without which man will fall victim to bad ways of life.
Many tread hard spiritual paths like tolerating intense cold, heat, thirst and do intense penances foolishly for the sake of Moksha, not knowing the true path of Moksha.
Many perform loud recitations, Vedic rituals like homa, yagna etc., for Moksha. They are only in illusion because they do not know that only knowledge and awareness of the SUPREME BEING alone can release one from the bondage of Karma, leading to Moksha.
Many undertake intense fasting to attain Moksha (if so, starvation deaths due to poverty can lead to Moksha). Such people are in delusion because the attainment of true knowledge alone can lead to Moksha.
There is no point in trying to punish the body in the name of spiritual discipline without the purification of mind. It is just like beating the ant-hole with the stick to kill the snake inside.
Many walk around among people naked thinking that they have conquered their ego. These people are not true renunciants for Moksha, because if that is so animals are naked and they should get Moksha.
Some apply holy ash of all types on their body and walk around for Moksha. Dogs and Donkeys roam around with all the dirt and mud on them, do they get Moksha?
Without cleaning the mind, if one lives on the banks of holy rivers like Ganga, Moksha does not come to him. If so, Frogs and Fishes virtually live in the holy waters of these rivers, do they get Moksha?
Some people give up food and water seeking Moksha. If so, there are many birds which do not drink water from the earth sources except collecting it from dew. They do not get Moksha.
Many propound six schools of philosophy and become proficient in them. But true knowledge eludes them for they do not know that true spiritual practise alone can lead to Moksha.
Many dive deep into the depts of Vedas and Scriptures and indulge in debates with great scholars and pandits, but they don’t have the true knowledge about Moksha.
Merely reciting Vedas, Agamas (invocation) and legends (Puranas) without knowing the secret of Moksha is just like crows making noise, and nothing but that.
Some people become good exponents of transcendental knowledge (Universal Consciousness) but do not conduct themselves to its values, because they are ego centric and do not have proper guidance by true Guru for Spiritual practises.
Many preach scriptures to others but they do not know the inner secret of it, just as the spoon does not know the taste of the dishes.
Many preach the scriptures to know the secret of Moksha, not knowing that it is within themselves and they have to turn INWARD.
Merely speaking or debating on the transcendental nature of the SUPREME BEING, Moksha does not come, just merely talking light cannot dispel the darkness. Only by realising the nature of the SUPREME BEING ignorance can be dispelled.
Many indulge in intense study of scriptures in order to gain knowledge. The scripture is infinite in number and therefore even thousand years of age cannot help to master it.
Because scriptures are too many, only the essence has to be taken from the scripture, just as a swan consumes only milk leaving out water from milk.
An intelligent knowledge Sadhaka/Seeker will sieve through the scriptures and take only the essence and leave the rest, just as a farmer takes rice out of paddy and discard the barn.
For him who has realised the knowledge of the SUPREME BEING, the scriptures become less relevant.
Moksha is not attainable by mere study of Vedas and Scriptures. It is attainable only by realising the SUPREME BEING through Meditation.
Following the four Varna ashrams or having the visualisation of six chakra’s or by any other actions Moksha is not attainable. Only through knowledge alone Moksha is attainable.
Knowledge is of two types. One is out of Agamas meaning that which is gained from outside. The other is born out of one’s own wisdom (by turning INWARD). What is learnt from outside is called Auditory knowledge. What is born out of wisdom is the transcendental knowledge.
Many propound the philosophies of Monotheism (Adwaitha) and others debate it as Dual (soul and super soul-Dwaitha). But nobody knows the truth that the SUPREME BEING is EVEN and ABSOLUTE (beyond all these things).
Only two principles are the main causes for the bondage and Moksha. Ego leads to bondage and dissolution of it leads to Moksha.
So long as the knowledge and awareness of the Universal Being is not attained (become aware of), Vedic practises like Homa, Yagna, Sacrificial fire, reading of scriptures, and visiting holy places are all helpful. Once Awareness ALIGNS with the UNIVERSAL BEING, all the above things are less relevant.
Moksha is attainable only by following the path of DHARMA (Comprehensive Righteous way of life). Following the path of Dharma leads to the knowledge of becoming aware of the Universal Consciousness. This knowledge in turn leads to MEDITATION for the realisation of the same. Sincere, devotional and regular practise of meditation on the Universal Being ultimately results in MOKSHA (Salvation) through the purification of karma.
Only meditation is capable of purifying the accumulated karma of innumerable births. Thus, Dharma and Meditation on the Supreme Being are the key to Moksha.
